The voice of rodeo is the announcer. He informs and entertains the audience; provides background and scores of contestants and their events, and lends atmosphere to rodeo.
Like many rodeo announcers, Randy Schmutz's career started inside the arena as a contestant. When he wasn't at the rodeos, he held a full-time job as a radio personality. After 12 years of combining radio and rodeo, Randy chose announcing for his career. Randy has been announcing PBR events for 12 years, PRCA rodeos for 18 years, and has been selected to announce the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas four times.He and his wife Amber reside in Stephenville, Texas, with their three children and have been raising bucking bulls on the XS Ranch since 1994.
